What does merging a PDF do?

Merging appends the pages of several PDF files into one new document — useful for combining scans, chapters, invoices or reports. Pages are copied without recompression, so the result keeps the same quality as the originals.

How to use this tool

1. Drop PDF files or click “Choose files” (you can pick many at once).
2. Check the list — use ↑ ↓ to reorder and ✕ to remove a file.
3. Click MERGE & DOWNLOAD.
4. Open the downloaded merged file to confirm the order.

Order matters

The merged file follows the order of the list from top to bottom. Files are added in the order you select them — use the arrow buttons to fix the sequence before merging.

Pro tips for perfect merges

• Order is yours to define — add files in the exact order you want them in the final document (or drag to reorder before merging).
• Expect the merged size to be the sum of the parts — merging copies pages as-is, it does not compress. Compress the final file if you need it smaller.
• Page size stays per-document — merging an A4 file with a Letter file keeps each page its original size. That is normal PDF behavior, not an error.
• Interactive forms — form fields are preserved, but if both PDFs have forms with the same field names, keep only the version you actually need.
• Encrypted PDFs — password-protected files must be unlocked first (our PDF Unlock handles this).

Common uses: combining scanned contracts into one file, joining separate report chapters, attaching certificates to a résumé, and merging receipts for expense reports.

Merging runs entirely in your browser. Your PDFs are never sent to any server and never stored — safe for contracts, invoices and personal documents.
